Inspired by the recent weather problems in the UAE, online used-car marketplace Automall has announced a new strategic alliance with leasing and rental company Hertz UAE.

As part of the alliance, customers of Al-Futtaim Group-owned Automall who are either waiting for their vehicle to be processed or repaired, will be provided with a rental vehicle by Hertz, with the cost covered by Automall up to AED2,000 ($545 U.S.).

The managing director of Al Futthaim’s automotive fleet and pre-owned division, Carlos Montenegro, said, “Through this exclusive partnership with Hertz UAE, we are further fulfilling our promise to deliver customer-centric experiences and ensure safer, uninterrupted journeys, especially in the wake of recent weather conditions.”

Automall is the online used-car marketplace of Al-Futtaim Group, a family-run business with more than 35,000 employees and more than 200 partner companies. Established in the 1930s, it now operates in more than 20 countries.

The Al-Futthaim automotive division is the UAE’s largest automotive company, and has been cited as the main rival by several auto tech companies, including by Abhinav Gupta, CEO of Cars24, speaking exclusively to the AIM Group.

The other operational Al Futthaim Group divisions are financial services, real estate, retail and health.
