Rightmove has added new fields into its real time data feed (RTDF) to comply with the final Material Information Parts B and C guidance from Trading Standards, issued in December.

The guidance covers the material information that must be published for property listings in the U.K. published by the National Trading Standards Estate and Letting Agency Team (NTSELAT).

Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket all worked with Trading Standards to generate the guidance that aims to give agents clarity on what information must be included on property listings to help agents stay compliant and give home-movers more accurate and detailed information.

The new fields Rightmove has created so online listings match Trading Standards’ guidance include:

  • Parking facilities
  • Accessibility features
  • Utility supplies
  • Rights and restrictions
  • Listed property status
  • Flood risks

Other property portals and apps that offer access to the main portal’s listings will integrate the changes into their CRMs so that their listings are aligned with Rightmove’s.

This includes Street.co.uk who integrated the new fields so agents’ complete information to match Rightmove. Each field includes a marker so users can identify which parts of Material Information it relates to. Data fields on property pages can be automatically pre-populated from Street.co.uk’s data tool.

“Since the final guidance for Material Information parts B and C was published by Trading Standards, we’ve been working to make sure agents can remain compliant and share this new information with us as easily as possible,” said Rightmove’s general counsel, David Cox.

“We know this is a really big change for agents, and we hope this final guidance gives agents the clarity they need over the information which is required, and we expect more home-movers will start to look out for this information as they become aware of the new terms.”
