Irénée Berthet has announced in a LinkedIn post that he has been appointed strategy development lead for real estate at Adevinta.

He joins Adevinta from its France-based marketplace horizontal LeBonCoin, where he worked for more than six years, rising from the position of business analyst to become strategic marketing manager at its jobs vertical.

Berthet joined LeBonCoin in 2018 after graduating from IÉSEG (Institut d’Économie Scientifique et de Gestion — The Institute of Scientific Economics and Management).

In his new role, he will be tasked with implementing local and global strategies for Adevinta’s real estate businesses, which include specialist platforms Fotocasa and Habitaclia in Spain and AVendreALouer in France, as well as general marketplaces such as LeBonCoin, Italy-based Subito, Marktplaats in the Netherlands and Germany-based Kleinanzeigen.

Spun off from Norway-based Schibsted in 2019, Adevinta owns and operates marketplaces, primarily across its six core Western European markets — Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands. It also has joint ventures in several other countries, including Ireland (DistilledSCH) and Brazil (OLX-Brazil).

Adevinta is currently in the process of being acquired by a consortium led by investment companies Blackstone and Permira, with the deal expected to close by the end of next month.
