Egypt-based proptech startup BirdNest has closed a pre-series A funding round.

Participants included Beltone Venture Capital. Financial terms were undisclosed, but it was confirmed that the investors had received a 20% stake in the company.

BirdNest said that the funding would be used to expand its operations geographically throughout Egypt and internationally, with Athens, Dubai and Riyadh targeted.

Founded in 2020 by Mostafa El-Nahway and Ahmed Fadda, BirdNest provides an app for landlords, investors and tenants, digitizing the entire rental process.

It provides short, medium and long-term accommodation, acting as both a middleman between landlord and tenants and a property manager. the company also has a design team that can refurbish flats.
