Poland-based, Prosus-owned general classifieds site OLX.pl has overhauled its review system, which it says will enhance reliability and transparency for users.

The change comes after recent proceedings initiated by Polish competition watchdog Uokik, which alleged that reviews labeled as being from ‘buyers’ might not always be from genuine purchasers.

The new system seeks to address this concern by ensuring that only buyers who receive an item using OLX’s shipping service can leave a review. This eliminates fake or biased feedback, fostering trust between users, the company maintains. Sellers will be rated on a scale of one to five, and buyers can use tags to leave more detailed feedback.

Additionally, new tabs for “Reviews Given” and “Sellers to Review” streamline feedback management, it adds. The new review system will be rolled out in August.

OLX Poland employs more than 1,000 people. In addition to OLX.pl; its portfolio includes auto sites Otomoto.pl, OtomotoKlik.pl and CarSmile.pl; heavy machinery site Otomoto Profi; Tradus.com, an international marketplace for used commercial vehicles and heavy machinery; real estate sites Otodom.pl and Obido.pl; and services site Fixly.pl.
