France-based automotive marketplace La Centrale has appointed Thomas Orthgiess as CPO.

La Centrale said his appointment was part of its ongoing strategy of focusing on innovation relating to the user experience, including new products and the development of AI.

Orthgiess previously worked with Germany-based auto marketplace — which is a subsidiary of Adevinta — as head of consumer core. He has a degree in business informatics from the University of Regensburg.

According to La Centrale, “…[Orthgiess’] experience in the automotive classifieds industry, extensive network and proven knowledge of best practices in European automotive classifieds platforms will be instrumental in enhancing La Centrale’s offerings […] and driving the group’s growth trajectory.” According to SimilarWeb data, La Centrale totaled 10.3 million visits in May.
