Spain-based auto marketplace Coches.net has launched “a search engine powered by generative artificial intelligence [GenAI], allowing users to conduct searches in a completely new and natural way,” according to a LinkedIn post from João Eça, general manager of Coches.net and sister site Motos.net (the latter is focused on motorcycles). He is also VP for mobility at Adevinta.

Coches.net — the leading auto marketplace in Spain — and Motos.net are subsidiaries of Oslo-based Adevinta.

“Until now, users had to rely solely on applying filters like make, model, kms or year. Our innovative approach allows them to describe their needs more broadly and conceptually,” Eça wrote.

“Users can describe what they are looking for in their own words (and language ), and our search engine will understand and process these descriptions to find the most suitable vehicles.”

“For example, instead of applying ‘Toyota’ as a brand, ‘Corolla’ as a model and ‘from 2018,’ they can look for terms like ‘SUV for less than €20,000 in Barcelona’ or as simple searches like ‘cheap cars’ …”

“Searching becomes a more intuitive and efficient experience, reducing the time needed to find the ideal vehicle by going through the extensive and detailed filters we offer.”
