Iran-based horizontal Divar has redesigned the category selection tool for its app, a move it says improves the app’s appearance and makes the search experience easier and faster.

According to Divar, the redesign is initially for half of its Android app users and will be available to all Android app users soon and is coming to PC and iOS in the near future.

The Divar app has been downloaded more than 80 million times to date, according to CafeBazaar, an Iran-based app store for the Android operating system that is also Divar’s parent company.

Divar asserts that the revamped app shortens the search journey for users. Now a user can access a desirable category directly with a single click; until now, this required multiple clicks e.g. a user who wanted to buy an apartment needed to first click on the real estate category, then residential sales and finally apartments for sale.

With a keyword-based search, users can get a list of recommended results from

The redesigned tool also reduces page loading times, according to Divar, leading to an improved search experience, particularly for those with low internet speeds.

Meanwhile, Divar recently set an annual free ad quota in an effort to curb duplicate listings.
