To find Erik Segerborg heading up strategy and marketing at the Swedish classified site Hemnet came as a surprise to many who have followed his successes as an Avito manager. He first arrived in Russia in 2013. But, why did he come back to Sweden? We asked him.

Brata Rafly named CEO of Oto.com in Indonesia

Jaipur-based Girnar Software, owner of leading auto classifieds site CarDekho, appointed Brata Rafly as CEO of its Indonesian auto site Oto.com. Rafly will be the first CEO of the company in Indonesia, according to an Economic Times report. Oto.com is a site for new and used autos, as well as motorbikes.

These managers will lead Schibsted Marketplaces

In mid-September, Schibsted announced a major re-organization of the company into two divisions - one for all classifieds, one for all media businesses  - with a separate structure providing support services to the first two divisions. The divisions were called Schibsted Marketplaces, and Schibsted Media. Roughly four weeks later, the new structure is now in place, and we can report who will be responsible for what in Marketplaces, although there hasn't been a formal announcement and the company site still reflects the old situation.

Hemnet gets brand new management team

General Atlantic and Merro, the new owners of Hemnet.se, Sweden's leading real estate vertical, gave the platform an entirely new management team. Cecilia Beck-Friis was appointed as CEO of Hemnet early in September and started in her new position on October 1.

Chelai Chewang is headed for liquidation

C-to-b used auto auction platform Chelai Chewang (车来车往) is declaring bankruptcy. The Beijing-based company is one of the first companies to officially drop out of the tooth-and-nail fight for market share in the burgeoning used auto sector in China. The platform had amassed around 400 thousand users in just over two years of operation.

Jeremy Williams appointed COO of PropertyGuru

PropertyGuru appointed Jeremy Williams to the newly created position of chief operations officer (COO) of the group. He will lead PropertyGuru’s strategic projects, help maximize operational efficiencies and manage talent across the group’s offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
