Analysts value Domain at $1.6 billion U.S.

Analysts have valued Australian real estate group Domain, which is to be spun off from parent company Fairfax Media (ASX: FXJ) this November, at $2 billion AUD ($1.6 billion U.S.), following the release of a scheme booklet to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) last week.

Domain is looking for a piece of the estimated $2-billion AUD insurance market, with the launch of its own brand called Domain Insure. Domain Insure will sell home, car and landlord insurance to users of its websites and apps, though Domain will not carry the risk of underwriting the policies.
