Swiss media giant Tamedia is in the midst of a major overhaul of it's auction site Ricardo.ch, hoping to turn the unit's fortunes around after a decline in revenue in the first six months of 2017. According to a report in the Swiss newspaper Tagblatt, Ricardo.ch sales fell six percent in the first half of the year, while profit dropped 28 percent in the period from H1 of last year.
Unofficially, Danish mobile app Tradono, which operates in several countries, has attracted new investors. Nothing has been officially announced yet. Until now, Tradono has had Swiss-based Tamedia as part-owner, holding anything between 25 and 33 percent of the shares.
Co-founder Mads Mathiesen believes that his mobile app Tradono - together with other mobile-only start-ups - are on their way to cracking charging (monetizing) on the mobile screen.
